Here are some thoughts on the book:
Few people have seen and heard what Wade McKoy has witnessed during the past 50 years skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A budding photographer and co-publisher of the Jackson Hole Skier magazine, McKoy was among the first to document the emerging, big mountain ski culture in the Tetons during the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s. He became a dedicated skier himself and continued this work into the 21st century, compiling a visual and written record of ski life in Jackson Hole and the Tetons during this transformative time.
These storied photographs illustrate McKoy’s new coffee table book, The Arc of Skiing Jackson Hole, 45 years behind the lens. The 384-page, hard cover book is huge, standing 12” tall and 10” wide. It features over 500 photographs, chosen from 20,000 images initially selected from roughly a half-million pictures—a lifetime of work.
